Ace of Base est un groupe de musique pop originaire de Göteborg en Suède. Il est composé de Jonas Berggren (Joker), Ulf Ekberg (Buddha), Linn Berggren et Jenny Berggren; les trois Berggren sont frères et sœurs. Spandau Ballet est un groupe de rock britannique formé en 1979 à Londres. Leur premier nom était The Makers, le nom définitif viendra d'un graffiti aperçu à Berlin (dont Spandau est un quartier) par un roadie. Leur premier titre, To Cut A Long Story Short, est un succès immédiat dans le style pop synthétique. Fin 1984, ils joueront sur l'album Band Aid, et participeront même au concert du Live Aid à Wembley. Ils feront un autre succès notable avec Through The Barricades en 1986. Né en 1981 à Los Angeles sous le nom de « The Supersonic Bangs » puis plus tard sous le nom de « Bangs », l'existence d'un autre groupe du nom de « Bangs » dans le New Jersey les obligea a changer pour « The Bangles ». Le groupe d'origine était composé de Susanna Hoffs, Debbi Peterson et Vicky Peterson qui sortit un 45 tours « Getting out of Hand » et « Call on Me ». Annette Zilinskas a assuré des basses en 1982 et a également joué de l'harmonica. Zilinskas est partie en 1983 et a été remplacée par Michael Steele, du groupe « The Runaways ». Les Bangles connurent une consécration mondiale avec le titre "Manic Monday", paru en 1986 et écrit par un mystérieux Christopher... qui n'est autre que Prince (d'après le nom du personnage interpreté par lui dans le film "Under The Cherry Moon": Christopher Tracy). Ce titre fut classé n°2 au Billboard Hot 100 américain en avril 1986, alors que le titre "Kiss" de Prince était au même moment classé n°1. A la suite du succès entamé avec "Manic Monday", le single suivant fut le titre "Walk Like An Egyptian" qui se classa n°1 aux USA en décembre 1986. Ces deux titres sont extraits du même album: "Different Light". Le groupe se sépara brutalement fin 1989. Après de nombreux best of, le groupe se reforme en 2000 pour des tournées et quelques enregistrements. En 2003, elles sortent un nouvel album : « Doll Revolution ». tres beau morceau.

Rednex est un groupe fictif suédois, qui a atteint une renommée internationale grâce au titre Cotton Eye Joe en 1995. Rednex a été créé par les producteurs suédois Janne Ericsson, Örjan Öberg, Pat Reiniz et Brian Reddyb, qui ont décidé d'essayer de mélanger la musique country à la musique techno. Ils ont choisi la chanson traditionnelle folk Cotton Eyed Joe, et l'ont transformée en morceau dance. Ils ont enregistré la chanson avec des musiciens en studio, puis ont formé un groupe fictif d'acteurs pour représenter le groupe, et on publié le titre en 1994. Le succès, à l'échelle mondiale, sera au rendez-vous. Un album intitulé Sex & Violins ("Sexe et violons") a suivi le single. Rednex continua à produire des hits en Europe (la suite, Old Pop in an Oak, est sur le même thème), mais Cotton Eye Joe reste leur seul succès aux Etats-Unis à ce jour (en 2006). Le groupe a fait un léger retour sur le devant de la scène lorsque la chanson Mama Take Me Home s'est placée en demi-finale du concours suédois Melodifestivalen le 11 mars 2006 à Gothenburg.
